Cedar Closet Moths. Cedar oil is one of the many essential oils used to get rid of silverfish, and is an especially effective pest killer for silverfish, clothes moths, and carpet beetles. Plan for a cedar closet in the basement or to add an extra door.
Keep an eye on your sweaters and other wool clothes for signs of moths, and be diligent. Avoid garages, basements and attics. I will hang them in my closets where i have wools and such.
For best results, place cedar oil in a diffuser, or mix several drops of the oil into a spray bottle filled with warm water and spray the mixture onto problem areas. However, other studies suggest that the cedar might only work in a confined area, like a closet. Overhead natural light bulbs are preferred, but if they are not available, good fluorescent lighting is a practical solution. Have you ever popped cedar blocks into your closet or dresser to ward off moths? They only attract the male moth, but without a male, you can’t get. Moth traps i just bought a pack of these.
Moth eggs can easily infiltrate your closet by affixing.
